Virat Kohli's First Domestic List A Century in 17 Years

Jeetbuzz casino Sparsely populated stadia do not exist in Kohli’s world. But the closed-door nature of Delhi’s match against Andhra at the Centre of Excellence ensured there were barely any spectators for his first domestic List A century in nearly 17 years. Rare is the occurrence when Virat Kohli has only a handful to cheer for him. Sparsely populated stadia and near-empty grounds do not exist in his world. But on Wednesday, the BCCI Centre of Excellence was eerily silent, with Kohli’s match-winning Vijay Hazare Trophy hundred against Andhra (131, 101b, 14x4, 3x6) – his first List A century in domestic cricket in nearly 17 years – only eliciting a few claps and hoots.

Closed-Door Match with Limited Spectators

The closed-door nature of the contest and the fact that it was miles away from the city ensured that there were just a few dozen fans who had assembled around the fortified periphery of the field. And the police force, which was tasked with preventing any untoward incident, chased them away from time to time like how one would get rid of flies scurrying around a fruit bowl. A daring supporter who had climbed atop a nearby truck for a clear view of the action was also quickly disembarked and the vehicle asked to move on.

India’s Dominant Chase

Jeetbuzz168 live The Indian chase defined the concept of a walk in the park, with Shafali Verma’s scintillating unbeaten 69 off 34 balls anchoring a 129-run pursuit that did the job with 49 balls to spare. Be it the slow burn of the first T20I or the swift mercy of the second, the outcome remained the same, with a seven-wicket win for India at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam helping it take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Despite losing Smriti Mandhana early, the strong Indian batting order barely broke a sweat. Even the otherwise commanding Inoka Ranaweera and Chamari Athapaththu were taken apart, with a burst of exhibition hitting yielding 48 runs in just three overs.

Sri Lanka’s Innings Falter

Sri Lanka had learned from its earlier mistakes, batting with intent and improved shot selection. But all the promise of the start tapered thanks to the capitulation of the end, with five wickets falling for just 19 runs as the side limped to 128/9. Kranti Gaud caught Vishmi Gunaratne in the first over off her own bowling, forcing Chamari Athapaththu to play rescuer again. Although Athapaththu counterattacked briefly, including a towering six, the onslaught was short-lived. Hasini Perera and Harshitha Samarawickrama tried to maintain urgency, but disciplined bowling and mounting pressure led to a steady collapse.

India U-19 Skip Handshake After Asia Cup Final Loss

jeetbuzz affiliateThe Indian Under-19 cricket team did not engage in the customary post-match handshake with Pakistan after suffering a 191-run defeat in the final of the U-19 Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai on Sunday. The Ayush Mhatre-led side also avoided the gesture following the toss in the summit clash.

Repeated Gesture Avoidance During the Tournament

India had taken a similar approach during the group-stage encounter between the two teams, where the handshake was skipped as well. This indicates that the decision was not limited to the final but was a consistent stance maintained throughout the tournament.
